Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the cost calculator?

The SwissOfferten cost calculator returns a guideline estimate from a price model kept up to date for Switzerland. It takes the type of cleaning, the size of the property and the cantonal price level into account. As a model guide value, a move-out cleaning for a 3.5-room apartment of 85 m² comes to CHF 980-1,360 in the Swiss average, and an apartment cleaning to CHF 1.50-2.50 per m², or CHF 30-50 per hour. The actual price varies with the condition of the property, the company you choose and the add-ons included, for example an acceptance guarantee or window cleaning. For a binding figure, request free quotes from verified cleaning companies in your canton.

Are the prices binding?

No. The prices shown in the SwissOfferten cost calculator are non-binding guide values from our price model, not quotes. Every cleaning company calculates individually, based on the details you provide or an on-site assessment, so the real price can come out higher or lower depending on the condition of the property, the floor coverings, the number of windows and the add-ons included. Region matters as well: the model places Zurich about 15 percent and Geneva about 20 percent above the Swiss reference level, while cantons such as Thurgau, Solothurn and Uri sit about 12 percent below it. Through SwissOfferten you can request free, binding quotes from verified cleaning companies in your canton and compare the prices directly.

Why do prices vary by region?

Cleaning prices in Switzerland follow local wage and cost levels, so they differ noticeably from canton to canton. Our model puts move-out cleaning at CHF 13-18.50 per m² in Zurich and Zug and at CHF 14-19 per m² in Geneva, where wages, rents and running costs for cleaning companies are highest. In cantons such as Thurgau, Solothurn and Uri the same work comes to CHF 10-14 per m², with Aargau, Bern and Lucerne in the middle. Between the most expensive and the cheapest canton that is a gap of roughly 36 percent. All of these are model guide values. The calculator covers all 26 Swiss cantons, so you can compare regions before you request quotes.
